Privacy Policy

Glottie is an audio-first language learning app. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: sign-in identifiers, support language, target language, settings, subscription state, and app preferences.
• Voice session information: session metadata, session duration, transcripts or trace-log excerpts, tutor corrections, learning objectives, and optional audio artifacts when needed to provide the service.
• Learner model information: progress estimates, vocabulary and grammar mastery, recurring errors, goals, interests, practice history, and tutor memories you create through use of the app.
• Payment information: App Store subscription and purchase receipts, entitlement status, minute balances, and ledger entries. We do not receive your full payment card details.
• Device and diagnostic information: app version, device type, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and security signals such as rate-limiting or abuse-prevention events.

How we use information

• To provide spoken tutoring sessions and adapt them to your level, goals, and progress.
• To remember what you are learning, schedule review, and generate post-session trace-logs.
• To manage accounts, subscriptions, minute balances, receipts, support requests, and product communications.
• To keep the app secure, prevent misuse, debug issues, and improve product quality.
• To comply with legal, tax, accounting, App Store, and safety obligations.

AI processing

Glottie uses AI speech and text models to provide real-time conversation, corrections, and post-session analysis. Your session data may be sent to AI service providers only as needed to provide the app experience, meter usage, analyze learning progress, and improve reliability. We design the app so the master API key never lives on your device.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us run the app, including cloud hosting, AI model providers, analytics, crash reporting, subscription validation, customer support, and security tooling. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect users, the app, or our rights.

Retention

We keep account, learner model, billing, and security records for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Session artifacts and trace-logs may be retained so Glottie can remember how you learn unless you request deletion where available.

Your choices

• You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of personal information by contacting support.
• You can manage subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
• You can ask us to delete personal tutor memories or learning data, subject to legal and security retention requirements.
• You can review additional choices on the Data choices page.

Children

Glottie is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Security

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including server-side authorization, short-lived session credentials, secure cloud infrastructure, and app-level abuse controls. No method of transmission or storage is perfect.

International users

Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Those countries may have privacy laws different from your own.
